Depending on how confident and fit a cyclist you are, there are a range of destinations that can be accessed by bike from The Sycamores.
Stockton town centre is very easily reached by bike; where a range of shops, restaurants and other facilities can be accessed. Many of the road in the town centre are great low speed and low traffic roads for even the most inexperienced cyclists!
You can get to Stockton train station in just minutes by bike and a cycle ride to Thornaby station will take around 7 minutes, which when considering traffic and the time it takes to park is probably quicker than a journey by car, so why not cycle as part of your commute or wider journey?
Running along the River Tees are Route 1 and Route 14 of the National Cycle Network. Both are mainly off road in the vicinity of Stockton.
Route 1 is a fantastic route, passing some of the UK’s most stunning scenery, running in sections from Dover up to the Highlands of Scotland. Locally, it connects Stockton with Middlesbrough, Redcar and runs north to Sunderland.
Route 14 is a largely traffic-free route from Darlington to Hartlepool to Durham and then to South Shields. Much of the route is along disused railway paths, so it make for a great leisurely cycle ride
